As you can see, the family was down for a visit the week of Feb 11-18 to help celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
Thank you all for coming and making it a special week for us.
My sister Cly and her husband were here too, along with our "snowbird" friends and some special local friends.
It was fun to see the little kids, we DO miss them when we are gone from home :-)

We got some group pictures, hard to do these days, and I am still trying to collect the pictures of the 5 of us from the various cameras that were snapping away.

We toured the beaches with the Gergen boys, toured the Believe it (or Not) museum, ate at the various seafood etc eateries around town, Margaritaville was fun, and, on a picnic to St. Andrews State Park,  found 2 Hermit Crabs, PETS for the older Gergen boys. ( Nana and Papa are going to try and deliver them, ALIVE!)
We are on our final leg of this winter get away and to be truthful, we are both homesick!
Will add more and more pictures as I get them in a future posting.
See you all in a week!

We are on the downward side of this trip to Florida, 3 weeks from today we should be home and I should be headed back to working out at the Y!  Believe me, I will need it!
It was a mixed bag, weather wise, some rain some downright cold and some absolutely beautiful.  We played poker on the days it rained, went to a movie (New in Town) on one cold day and played more cards on another.  The sunny days were no brainers, get outside and enjoy!
On Friday, the 6th, we went to one of my favorite spots, Wakulla Springs State Park.
On Saturday the 7th we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with a great dinner out.
We have decided that to celebrate this milestone we will go to Alaska for 10 days at the end of May, with Paul's Sister Carol and her husband Ray.  We always have fun together and this should be fun too, not to mention beautiful.
The pictures are:
Flowers from Paul, the lodge at Wakulla from the boat, with cave divers in the fore ground,A momma alligator with babies all around her, My friend Marsha and I at the springs and another beautiful sunset :-)
All the family start arriving on Wednesday, they will be here for a week so this won't get updated until after they leave.
I AM getting homesick and I think Paul is too.

Here it is, February already!  We have been doing a bit of sightseeing, mini golfing and shopping, as you can see.
The picture of the beach is the morning of Jan. 31st, it was a beautiful day.  The picture of the walkway and dunes is at a place called Inlet Beach State Park.  There is nothing there except beautiful dunes.  It is East of us and pretty quiet.  just beautiful (that is Paul on the walkway)
The group of us is, Judy, me and Carole at the local Margarita ville.  We went shopping and had lunch there.  A fun place and lots of color.  The last photo is my friend Marsha and myself playing(?) mini golf.

We are now on the final stretch of hiding out for the winter.  Saturday is our 50th Wedding Anniversary and on the 11th our 3 kids and spouses and Ann's 3 boys are coming down to visit and help celebrate this occasion.  My Sister and her husband are also coming in on the 14th.

We have a lot to fit into this short month and after everyone leaves we start winding down, packing up and then it is back to the real world of snow and cold.
The ground hog saw his shadow so we get at least 6 more weeks of nasty, but I'm willing to bet it will be longer.  Last year we got home in time for the biggest snowstorm of the winter, hopefully all the big ones will be done by time we get there.

Went to the Super Bowl, it was exciting for a change, and the place we watched it at was so pro-Steeler that every time they did ANYTHING, I'm sure the roof went up a bit from the cheers and noise.  I personally wanted the Cardinals to win :-)

That is about it for this session, will do more after the kids have come and gone.
